Manufacturing Process

To make a ClimateCraft AHU, individual panels are roll-formed from a single piece of metal ranging from 18 inches to 36 inches wide, with double-thick edges for increased cabinet strength.

Material options include:

  • Powder-Coated Aluminum
  • Powder-Coated Galvanized Steel
  • Galvanized Pre-Painted Steel

Our unique roll-formed panel construction has a full thermal break and is significantly stronger than framed units that are welded. Our high-strength construction is equivalent to 10 gauge designs using traditional methods and seals tightly against high pressure. Sturdy 5/16-inch steel bolts are used to join panels instead of insubstantial sheet metal screws.

By using our exclusive roll-formed construction for the walls and roof panels of AHUs, we cut our tooling costs in half and pass the savings on to our customers.

Construction

We construct our door frames out of extruded aluminum with a full thermal break. Fully adjustable cast aluminum hinges and roller cam latches provide for a consistently tight seal. Wire-reinforced viewing windows are available.

FanMatrix fan array towers are ideal for applications ranging from 3,000-200,000 CFM, including retrofits requiring new fans due to failure, age or poor performance. FanMatrix design is ideal for replacing air handling units in equipment rooms with severely limited access.

Towers are available in 34.5-inch wide configurations to negotiate narrow corridors, fit around tight corners and pass through 3-foot framed door openings.

Enhancing FanMatrix's appearance and functionality is the fact that fans are housed in cabinets finished with an industrial coating system formulated to withstand harsh environments. Each fan is spring-isolated to provide superior vibration isolation and seismic performance. Our fans' structural design eliminates potentially destructive resonant vibration and improves fan life.

FanMatrix retrofit towers are engineered to meet customers' specific requirements and offer the same features, benefits and quality of factory-built air handlers. If a full AHU retrofit is required, FanMatrix retrofit towers are coupled with a ClimateCraft ACCESS™ site-assembled solution to meet the most demanding specifications.
